Here I am on the other side of my sickness and I wanted to share real quick about my week. Saturday afternoon found me with a very sore throat and all I wanted was to feel good! I DID NOT want to be sick. I KNEW God had another plan and so I found myself in bed and "missing out"on fellowship, Church, and time with the kids. I went to the Dr on Monday and YES ... I had strep! So, I got the necessary medicine and off to bed again! I was home alone and not looking forward to it at all! BUT, God meet me where I was and as I was asking Him to meet me there, I found great comfort in my time at home with HIM. Phyllis has ALWAYS been a great encouragement to me and as we talk and share, I am encouraged to ask God to comfort me in this time of physical weakness. A verse was brought to my attention and I want to share it here with you all. Isaiah 30:18 "...the Lord still waits for you to come to Him so he can show you His love and compassion. For the Lord is a faithful God. Blessed are those who wait for Him to help them." Today, I can say that I am thankful for being sick and for His love and compassion that He showed to me. It gave me time alone with Him and time that is now very precious to me.
Thank you all for your prayers and I am asking God to show me His future for me here. No answers yet but someday He will give them to me!

ReplyDeleteSo good to hear from you. We have been praying and we truly feel your pain. Hailey, Akshya and myself all have strep. I think Gene is coming down with it. How cool is it when we are at our lowest that God steps in and meets us right where we are at. We got a email from Kevin and pictures, it was so fun to see you two with all the kids. Kevin had a great time and I am sure he was a welcoming site for you.
Lord - Give Phyllis and Eve a a restful weekend, strengthen and encourage their hearts. Protect and watch over them. Continue to give them clear direction and a glimpse into the future and what you have in store. Surround them with overwhelming comfort as I am sure there are days of homesickness setting in. Thank you for their willingness to go and love on our kids, may they come away blessed and encouraged for obeying your call. We love them Lord and give them strength that only you can give. Hey there! We are praying for continued healing and strength and continued good health for both of you. It was so fun to see that great picture of everybody that Kevin sent. I saw the video he has on face book of all the kids playing kick ball. So fun! I bet you guys sleep really well after working and playing with all those kids!:) Thanks so much for being Jesus to these kids and I'm sure an encouragement to Shaker and Irene as well!

ReplyDeleteThank you so much for being transparent in what God is teaching you, it has been an encouragement to me! I love hearing how God stretches people and teaches them lessons in ways they would not imagine! Phyllis, I know you will be missed at the Polar Plunge this Saturday, I guess there will have to be a cannon ball contest without you :) Eve a, get better soon, that strep is nasty. So far I have missed it at my house. Maybe it has something to do with the mask I have been wearing :) Just kidding! Praying for you both!
